The Art Realm was founded in 2021 by Hämeenlinna Art Museum, Tampere Art Museum, and Lahti Visual Arts Museum. The biennial exhibition concept travels through three provinces every two years. Art Realm is part of the regional museum work of the three responsible museums of visual art. Its objectives include strengthening the collaboration between the three art museums and the provinces, as well as enhancing the visibility and networking of local artists.
Therefore, we are also interested in the regional connections of the artists.
Proposals require artists, pairs of artists, and collectives to have a regional connection to one of the three provinces: Pirkanmaa, Kanta-Häme, or Päijät-Häme. Not all members of collectives need to have this connection. Artists and collectives may define their connection to the region(s) freely.
